Meanwhile some news bases and agencies, including Rudaw, Zeman and Xendan quoted the English statistics S&P Global Platts website that the Kurdistan Region oil production has dropped by 27.44% in June and a decline of 100,000 barrels per day hit the production in January and the oil production in the region reached 267,000 barrels per day, theregion’s Natural Resources Ministry denied the reports and stated that the region’s oil production has dropped.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources said the news released on Rudaw TV channel over a big drop in oil production to 267,000 barrels per day is untrue.
It also confirmed that the oil production of the region is the same as the previous months.
The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced earlier that the Kurdish region should reduce its oil production as part of Iraq, given the OPEC's decision to reduce oil production in the country.
