Barham Salih, Iraqi judiciary chief discuss election and Federal Supreme Court

<p style="text-align: left;">Iraqi President Barham Salih met with Fayek Zidan, chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council in Baghdad where the two sides discussed the upcoming parliament elections and the Federal Supreme Court.

According to the Iraqi Presidential Office, the two sides discussed early elections and stressed the importance of strengthening efforts to ensure the independence and integrity of the elections and its impact on increasing citizens' trust and exercising their legal right to elect their representatives.

The president and the head of the Iraqi judiciary also stressed the need to pass an amendment to the Federal Supreme Court law and support the judiciary's role in fighting corruption, institutionalizing justice, and cooperating and coordinating the passage of laws appropriate to Iraq's future.
