According to Russia Today, Nechirvan Barzani praised France's continued support and assistance to the Kurdistan Region and expressed hope that relations with Paris would expand.

According to the Iraqi website Al-Akhbariya, the Kurdish president tweeted about meeting with Macron: "I am honored to meet President Macron again."

Barzani added: "Today I had a useful and constructive meeting with him in Baghdad. I thank France for its continued support and strong relations with the people of the Kurdistan Region.

Barzani also noted: "I hope that relations with France will expand even more."
