Party official says US is not trustworthy and Syrian Kurds should get united

A member of the Central Committee of the Syrian Kurdistani Union Party (PYKS) urged the Kurds in Syria not to trust the US and count on it for the future and stated that Kurds need unity and brotherhood to get prepared for upcoming political events in Syrian Kurdistan.

Heval Issa, a member of the Central Committee of the PYKS, said in response to a Kurdpress question about the lessons that the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan could teach the Kurds in Syria that " the US withdrawal from Syrian Kurdistan and east of the Euphrates reminds everyone in the region of the Afghanistan scenario and a lot of damage to the people of the region, so there is no trust in foreign forces and they should not be trusted."

"It is clear that great powers are acting in their own interests, and this will happen if the Kurds cannot find a solution to their problems. The United States will not stay in the region forever and as it left Afghanistan after 20 years and the Taliban returned to power, and the Afghan people are facing the situation they experienced two decades ago."

"Therefore, we must not forget that such an event may be repeated in the east of the Euphrates. So we need to get united in Syrian Kurdistan and rely only on ourselves and our people," Mr. Issa further said.

The PYKS official added that the Kurds must unite at home and prepare for future events. The US withdrawal from Afghanistan can help us get united and we can find a way to future events."
