The Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan following the withdrawal of thousands of US troops from the country has raised concerns about a recurrence in northern Syria.

Some Kurds do not hide their concern that the withdrawal of US troops from northern Syria will lead to the collapse of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration in the region and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

However, the US Central Command said in a statement to the UAE National newspaper that some reports about the evacuation of some US military bases in northern Syria were not true and that US forces did not intend to leave Syrian Kurdish-controlled areas.

The US Central Command said in a statement that there had been no change in the fight against ISIS in cooperation with the Syrian Democratic Forces.

Siamand Ali, a senior commander of the SDF, also told the magazine that the program of the US forces in the Kurdish-controlled areas of Syria has not changed and that their joint daily patrols with US forces will continue.

He stressed that even the withdrawal of US troops from northern Syria would not lead to the collapse of the force based in the region, as happened to the Afghan army after the US withdrawal.

The Kurdish commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces said that our forces have become a strong force in the last ten years and that the withdrawal of 900 US troops from northern Syria will not lead to the collapse of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
