A day ahead the US presidential election, analyses on the consequences of this election on US policies in different parts of the world still continue. US engagement with the Kurds, especially in Iraq and Syria, has been one of the issues influencing the upcoming US elections. The political magazine of International Pulse Digest has released an analysis on the consequences of the 2020 US presidential election on the Middle East and the Kurds.
The paper believes that US policy toward the Kurds will not change much with the change of presidents. It predicts that with the election of Joe Biden most members of the Barack Obama administration will return to work, while these people and the Obama administration did not agree with the independence of the Kurdistan Region.
The magazine warned that one of the challenges for the future US administration will be Turkey's hostile and aggressive policy towards the Kurds in Syria and Iraq. International Policy Digest emphasizes that US policy towards the Iraqi Kurds has not changed since the presidency of George W. Bush, and that the country continues to oppose the independence of the Iraqi Kurds and supports a united Iraq.
Although some members of Congress support Kurdish independence, the policies of US governments do not support this idea.
