Iraqi Kurdish leaders congratulate Joe Biden on winning US election

<p style="text-align: left;">Iraqi Kurdish leaders among them the Leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, the Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and the KRG Deputy PM Qubad Talabani felicitated Joe Biden for winning the US 2020 presidential elections.

Masoud Barzani expressed hope that the world would witness more peace and prosperity during Biden&rsquo;s presidency.

&ldquo;I express my heartfelt congratulations to you, my friend, President-elect @JoeBiden for your victory. I sincerely hope and pray that the free world under your leadership will witness more peace and prosperity,&rdquo; he said in a tweet.

Also the Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani in a tweet expressed his &ldquo;heartfelt congratulations to President-Elect @JoeBiden and Vice President-Elect @KamalaHarris on their victory in the U.S. presidential election. I look forward to working together to further strengthen our partnership and bilateral ties.&rdquo;

&ldquo;I congratulate @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris . I look forward to continuing the close, strong cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the US. Our partnership is crucial to regional stability and prosperity,&rdquo; the Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani tweeted.

KRG Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani also congratulated Biden and Harris for winning the elections.

&ldquo;A big congratulations to a good man, a seasoned politician, and an old friend @JoeBiden ; the next #POTUS. We look forward to working with his administration to build on our already strong partnership with the US government, the US military and the American people,&rdquo; Talabani said in a tweet, and also congratulated Harris for becoming the first ever female vice president. &ldquo;Historically US VP&rsquo;s have been heavily involved in US-Iraq policy. Certainly, so long as I&rsquo;ve been involved; Gore, Cheney, Biden, Pence have all engaged closely on Iraq &amp; we hope a VP Harris does too.&rdquo;

Meanwhile the Co-President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Lahur Sheikh Jangi congratulated the successful electoral candidates and said that he &ldquo;hope that we can continue to pursue our efforts in overcoming persistent challenges in the Middle East as we strive for peace, stability and security.&rdquo;
