According to Kurdpress, the Iraqi Shiite Coordinated Framework nominated Nouri al-Maliki as the candidate for the prime minister of Iraq.
Previously, the current Prime Minister and the head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, stepped down in favor of Nouri al-Maliki, the head of the Rule of Law Coalition.
It is noted that Nouri Maliki was the Prime Minister of Iraq between 2006 and 2014; This period is considered one of the most tense periods in Iraq due to the simultaneous occupation of Iraq and the end of the US military presence in 2011 and the attack of ISIS terrorists in 2014.
