According to Kurdpress, internal security forces of the interim government of Syria headed by Marwan Ali, commander of internal security in Haskeh, entered the city of Qamishlo in Syrian Kurdistan. These forces, which are affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Interior, entered the city within the framework of the agreement between the Damascus government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

On December 30, 2026, the Syrian Democratic Forces published the text of their agreement with the Syrian interim government. According to this agreement, the cessation of conflicts between the two sides is guaranteed, and the solutions for the integration of the military and administrative forces of both sides have been determined.

According to the agreement, the military forces will withdraw from the conflict lines and the Syrian security forces under the Ministry of Internal Affairs will take over the responsibility of securing the cities of Hasakah and Qamishlo. Also, a new military unit will be formed, which will include three brigades of SDF forces.

In the framework of the agreement, another brigade will be formed for Kobani forces on the border of Aleppo province. Another part of the agreement is related to the integration of administrative institutions, so that local self-governing organizations are combined with government institutions and civilian employees are included in the government structure.

The civil and cultural rights of the Kurdish people are also guaranteed and the return of immigrants to their areas and homes is guaranteed.

In this regard, Marwan Ali, the commander of internal security in Haskeh, along with Nour al-Din al-Baba, the spokesperson of the Syrian Ministry of Interior, visited the headquarters of the Peace Forces in Qamishlo to check the process of delivery and expansion of internal security in this city.
