According to Kordpress, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro announced in a joint press conference with Iraqi Kurdistan Regional President Nechirvan Barzani that the Peshmerga forces and the French forces did their duty in confronting the ISIS terrorist group, and the Paris municipality named a street after the Peshmerga.
Barrow added that the Paris municipality named one of its streets Peshmerga in a symbolic act, and French President Emmanuel Macron was the first president to visit Erbil.
He remembered all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism, and said that France and the Iraqi Kurdistan Region were always partners in difficult times, and due to the tensions and unrest in Syria, Iran and the region, we work together in close coordination to deal with any challenges.
Baro went on to thank the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq for the role it has played in these issues, especially in the case of Syria, which offered extensive cooperation to reach an agreement, and pointed to France's continuous efforts to contain tensions and end instability.
In the end, the French foreign minister said that we continue our efforts to protect the rights of the Kurds and all groups in Syria. We are here to work for the implementation of this agreement with the aim of building a united, independent and secure and peaceful Syria. The Kurds should play an active role in the future Syria like the Kurds in Iraq.
