Transfer of 2,000 ISIS prisoners with Turkish citizenship from Syria to Iraq

According to Kurdpress, Turkish media published new details about the process of transferring Daesh prisoners from Syria to Iraq and announced that about two thousand detained armed people who have Turkish citizenship will be transferred to Iraq from the prisons of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern Syria.

According to Kurdistan 24, according to Turkish media reports, the process of transferring these prisoners is carried out within the framework of a tripartite security and judicial agreement between Baghdad, Washington and Ankara.

The total number of prisoners who are going to be transferred to Iraq is 7,000, 30% of whom are Turkish citizens. It has also been mentioned that Turkish security teams have confirmed the identity of these prisoners through field investigations and research in coordination with the US.

Among the people whose names are on the transfer list, there are several prominent ISIS leaders; Including "Ilyas Aydin" known as "Abu Obeidah" ​​(Emir of Istanbul) who is considered one of the most dangerous wanted persons in Türkiye And he is accused of being involved in the big explosion in Ankara in 2015. Also, the names of several other defendants such as "Elhami Bali" and "Deniz Buyuk Chalabi" are also included in this list.

The three countries of Iraq, Türkiye, and the United States have agreed to charge "genocide" and "crime against humanity" against ISIS leaders and members. Ankara and Washington have also committed to provide all their documents and information to Iraqi courts.

According to this plan, after the investigation and the completion of the initial stages of the trial in Iraq, these people will be returned to Turkey to serve their sentences or be retried under Turkish law.
