In this meeting, the importance of implementing the agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Damascus government, solving the refugee crisis and providing security for the Syrian people was emphasized.
According to the official account of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees on the X social network, Dr. Barham Saleh met Syrian Foreign Minister Asad Shaibani on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference and emphasized the need for international support for the return of refugees to their regions and homes.
Barham Saleh has also stated that without providing security and stability, it is not possible to enable the safe return of refugees and ensure their healthy lives in Syria.
In the meeting with Shibani, in addition to the issue of security throughout Syria, he discussed the reconstruction of the country's infrastructure and the provision of basic services for Syrian citizens, and once again emphasized the need to implement the agreement between the Damascus government and the Syrian Democratic Forces.
At the same time, the Khandan website reported that Dr. Barham Saleh met with a delegation from Syrian Kurdistan, including Mazloum Abdi, the commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, and Elham Ahmed, the joint head of foreign relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
In this meeting, the general situation in Syria and the agreement between the government of Damascus and the Syrian Democratic Forces were discussed, and Barham Saleh emphasized the role and cooperation of the United Nations in solving the issue of displaced persons and refugees and providing grounds for their return to their homes and original areas.
