According to Kurdpress, Shaswar Abdulwahid, head of the "New Generation" movement, announced in a news conference: "Whenever we reach a political agreement, the New Generation movement will support any candidate nominated by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan for the post of president."

Referring to the process of recent political talks, he said: The forces that do not participate in these meetings and do not respond to our call are actually part of the power structure and have consented to the continuation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's rule. According to him, this issue means the desire of these currents to keep the post of prime minister in the hands of the Democratic Party.

Abdulwahid emphasized: "Our struggle is not aimed at small forces, and like some currents, I do not intend to take financial concessions from the government in secret, make deals with them behind closed doors, or at the same time request concessions from the government and threaten it.".

The head of the New Generation movement further stated once again that if an agreement is reached, this movement will support the candidate of the Patriotic Union for the presidency regardless of the person's nam.

At the end of this news conference, Shaswar Abdulwahid also announced his meeting with Bafel Talabani, the head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and announced that this meeting was held within the framework of ongoing political consultations.
