As reported by Press, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fawad Hossein warned in a televised interview about the consequences of any possible military conflict in the region and emphasized that strengthening the American military presence has clear goals and that starting a war with Iran will lead to a regional and global disaster.
According to the announcement of Baghdad Al-Youm, Hussein further stated that any military conflict could lead to the stoppage of the export of about three million barrels of oil, which will directly affect Iraq's income and financial resources, considering Iraq's approximate dependence on oil revenues as the main source of foreign exchange.
He explained that in the event of a war, its impact and consequences will not be limited, but will create global instabilities whose paths will be unpredictable.
The Iraqi foreign minister explained that Iran's reaction in such a scenario is unpredictable and this raises the level of risks.
Hossein also emphasized that Iraq is not in a state of war and dragging Iraq into the abyss of regional conflict is a great danger to its internal stability.
He further called on all parties to make serious efforts to prevent the region from being drawn into a full-scale conflict.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister also stated that the American side played a direct role in preventing Israel from targeting Iraqi armed groups over the past two years, and that the Iraqi Prime Minister was able to calm the armed groups and prevent the escalation of tension.
In the economic context, Hossein pointed out that any action that leads to cutting off the flow of dollars will create a major liquidity crisis inside Iraq, and the main source of dollars is the income from oil exports, which makes regional stability a basic condition for the protection of the national economy.
