One person was killed and one person was injured after a drone attack in Sulaymaniyah

Kurdistan Region Iraq Service - News and security sources in the Kurdistan Region report that a car was targeted on the Dukan-Sulaymaniyah route.

According to Kurdpress, news sources announced today Wednesday that a car caught fire and exploded in the city of Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region.

Sirvan Sarhad, the governor of Dukan city, said that the car exploded at 7:40 in the evening after a fire, as a result of which one person was killed and another person was seriously injured.

He added: It is not yet clear whether this incident was caused by an attack or because of an internal problem. The security forces have started their investigation to clarify the dimensions of the incident.

Meanwhile, Iraq's Al-Ahed network reported that the incident occurred as a result of a Turkish drone attack and that all the occupants of the car lost their lives.

On the other hand, the CPT organization announced that a Land Cruiser car with Sulaymaniyah license plate was attacked by an unknown drone on the way from Dukan to Sulaymaniyah and near Hasan Tepe village.

According to Kamran Othman, one of the members of this organization, one person was killed and another person was seriously injured in this attack, and the victims had Iranian identity documents.

Sirvan Sarhad also emphasized that the car involved in the accident was carrying a large amount of weapons and explosives. According to him, after the car caught fire, several explosions were heard in the area, which were caused by explosives inside the car.

Rescue teams were dispatched to the site and extinguished the fire. Security investigations to identify the identity of the passengers and the type of weapons are still ongoing.
