The free presence of about 20,000 prisoners of al-Hol camp in Syria

Jahan's Service - According to the Wall Street Journal report, a large number of ISIS affiliates have escaped from the al-Hol camp in Syria

According to Kurdpress, US intelligence agencies have announced that between 15,000 and 20,000 people - including ISIS affiliates - are now free and on the run in Syria after the collapse of Al-Hol detention camp in northeastern Syria. This estimate has been provided to the media by American officials who are aware of security assessments.

According to the Wall Street Journal, this development occurred after the Syrian government pushed back the US-backed forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, from the northeastern regions of the country.  These forces were responsible for the protection of al-Hol camp for many years.

Al-Hol camp, which is located in Haskeh province, was considered one of the largest detention centers for the families of ISIS members. Security experts have warned over the past years that the wives of ISIS fighters in this camp are nurturing and ideologically training a new generation of extremists.

With the collapse of the security structure of the camp in recent weeks and the withdrawal of security forces, thousands of residents of this complex have managed to leave. American sources say that the main concern now is not only the dispersion of these people in different regions of Syria, but also the possibility of some of them rejoining the secret cells of ISIS or forming new extremist networks.

Security analysts describe this event as one of the most serious counter-terrorism challenges in Syria in recent years. This is while the presence and direct role-playing of America in the Syrian field has decreased and the balance of power has changed in favor of Damascus.
