The possibility of reopening the Morshidpinar border gate to help Kobani

Turkey Service - The head of Amed Lawyers Association announced the consultation with government officials to reopen the Morshidpinar border crossing and said that the atmosphere of the talks was not negative and that this crossing may soon be opened for .the direct delivery of humanitarian aid to Kobani

According to Kordpress, the "Protection and Solidarity of the City of Amad" campaign started a public donation campaign on January 28 with the aim of meeting the urgent human needs of Kobani city. This platform called for the reopening of the Morshidpinar border crossing for the direct transfer of aid, and on January 30, it sent 25 trucks carrying relief items to this crossing in Pirsus region. However, due to the decision of the governorate, the convoy was not allowed to enter the center of Piersos (Soruch) and the aid was finally transferred to Kobani on February 10 through the Chobanbey crossing in Kilis province

With the continuation of the campaign, the efforts to reopen Morshidpinar continue. Abdul Qadir Gulch, the head of Amad Lawyers Association and one of the members of this campaign, announced in a conversation with Mesopotamia that they have met with the governor of Diyarbakir, government officials and the deputy minister of the interior to reopen this crossing and so far they have not faced any negative stance. He also said that they met with some political parties in Ankara

Gulch said about the conversation with the Afghan leader of the Justice and Development Party that their opinion is that the government is waiting for the implementation of the agreement made between the Syrian Democratic Forces and Damascus in the field. According to him, the Afghan Supreme Leader has announced that the necessary measures have been taken to reopen this crossing, but this process requires time, and the crossing will probably be opened after the completion of the handover process and transformation of the borders

Pointing out that the Choban Bay crossing was activated in 2016 due to emergency conditions, the head of Amed Lawyers Association emphasized that Morshidpinar is an old and direct crossing to Kobani, and its reopening is considered the most practical and appropriate route for the transfer of humanitarian aid. He expressed hope that this crossing and a humanitarian corridor will be activated in the near future so that food, hygiene items and basic needs of children can be directly transferred to Kobani

Gulch also announced the preparation of food packages by Amed Lawyers' Association and said that in cooperation with a chain store, it was possible to prepare support packages worth a thousand liras for people's participation. He asked the citizens and legal colleagues to support this campaign and reminded that just as this platform was active during the February 6 earthquake, now its aim is to reduce the suffering of civilians and provide the basic needs of the people of Kobani
