The current policy of the Patriotic Union has made it difficult to introduce a joint candidate for the Kurds

Iraq and Kurdistan Region Service - The second vice president of the Iraqi Parliament, pointing to the interference of Shia currents in the process of appointing the president, criticized the current approach of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and said that this policy has made it difficult for the Kurds to present a common candidate.

According to Kurdpress, Farhad Etrushi said in an interview with Kurdistan 24: "Shia currents are directly interfering in the issue of determining and finalizing the presidential candidate."

He added: "Politics with the current mentality of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has made it difficult for the Kurds to enter the Iraqi parliament with a common candidate."

The deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament also said: "Nuri al-Maliki, the head of the Government of Law coalition, insists on his positions and does not back down. This issue is a sign of the deepening of the differences within the Shiite currents and its effect on the political process.

About Iraq's financial situation, Etrushi also mentioned the content of his meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, and said: "Al-Sudani told me frankly that the economic situation in Iraq is inappropriate and that the financial resources we have or will receive are few."

He further emphasized: "In Baghdad, there is a bad intention towards the Kurdistan Region, and this issue can bring risks for financial rights and political relations."
