According to Kurdpress, Abdullah Ocalan, the leader of the disbanded Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), presented a new request to the Turkish authorities in his latest meeting with the members of the Equality and Democracy Party (Dem Party) in Emrali Island. Öcalan demanded to be allowed to hold a media meeting in Amralı prison so that he could convey his messages directly.
"Parvin Boldan" announced that Ocalan emphasized the necessity of holding a media meeting in Amrali in the recent meeting with the delegation of this party. According to him, Ocalan considered this action as part of his legal rights and expressed hope that this request will be implemented as soon as possible.
Boldan added that in this meeting, there was a discussion about Ocalan's health and living conditions, as well as developments related to the process of political settlement and legal mechanisms for those who wish to join this process.
According to Boldan, Ocalan rejected the proposal based on which she was supposed to answer the questions in writing and emphasized the importance of a direct conversation or a media meeting.
In the end, Boldan noted that the party is pursuing this issue in order to expand communication channels with Öcalan.
