She emphasized that "peace for the Kurds and democracy for the whole of Türkiye" should be implemented immediately. She also rejected the security-oriented approach to the Kurdish problem, and considered the report of the parliamentary commission to be lacking in "the language of solving the problem" and emphasized: "The Kurdish problem cannot be enclosed in the bracket of terrorism." She warned that reducing this issue to a purely security issue means ignoring its social, historical, and political dimensions, and added that Turkey should get over the policy based on "fear of the Kurds" and turn to a realistic and democratic approach.

At the weekly meeting of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Tulai Hatem Ogulari began her speech on the occasion of February 21, International Mother Language Day, in Arabic and said: "Mother language is the wealth of humanity." She warned that many languages are at risk of extinction and the defense of linguistic diversity is the defense of human heritage. She also honored the memory of Sevim Belli, one of the prominent figures of the socialist movement in Türkiye, on the anniversary of her death.

Focusing on the economic crisis, she said: "The hunger line for a family of four has reached 43,415 liras and the poverty line has reached 105,000 liras." Hatem Ogulari added: "A family that used to live with one minimum wage, today cannot cross the poverty line even with four minimum wages." She also announced that the number of people in need of help in Türkiye has increased by 51.6 percent and emphasized: "Hunger and poverty can no longer be managed." She asked the government to set the minimum wage and minimum pension equal to half of the poverty line.

The co-chairman of the Dem Party accused the government of "handing over nature to capital" and said: "Air, water, soil and sea are not commercial goods for profit." Referring to international data, she added that Turkey ranks first in Europe in terms of destruction of natural areas, and rent-based policies have both impoverished people and destroyed the environment.

In another part of her speech, Hatem Ogulari addressed the situation of the youth and said: "According to the data of the International Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), one out of every four young people is neither in education nor in employment." She added that more than 70% of young people see their future outside of Türkiye, and in the last quarter of 2025, one out of every five young women was unemployed. She said: "SMS monitoring the entry and exit of female students is an example of patriarchal guardianship applied by the government."

She then addressed the current political process and the Kurdish issue and said: "Turkey is in one of its most sensitive and historical stages; The days when decisions are made about the hundred-year knot." Referring to the February 18 statement of the Emirali delegation, she described Abdullah Ocalan's words as a "political statement" and quoted: "We want to discuss how to live together and in peace; Yes, how will we live together?" She emphasized that this question is the fundamental question of Türkiye today.

Criticizing the report of the "National Solidarity, Fraternity and Democracy" commission, Hatem Ogulari said: "The language of this report is not the language of problem solving; It is an old and repetitive language. She added: "The Kurdish issue cannot be enclosed in the bracket of terrorism. "If you reduce it to just a security issue, you're fooling yourself." According to her, it is necessary to get over the policy based on "fear of the Kurds" and see the issue in its social, historical and political context.

She also called for the immediate implementation of the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights and the Turkish Constitutional Court and said: "There is no need for a new law to implement these rulings; "This delay is completely tasteful." She asked: "Why are Demirtas, Yuksekdagh, Kavala and Jan Atalay still in prison?" Why are the guardians still sitting on the seats of the mayors?" She demanded the end of the system of guardians and continuous respect for the people's vote and will.

In the most important part of her speech, Hatem Ogulari stated: "For lasting peace, Mr. Ocalan's status should be recognized by a legal arrangement and be under legal guarantee." She added: "Peace for the Kurds and democracy for the whole of Türkiye must be implemented quickly."
