Drone attack on Castrol warehouse in Erbil causes multi-million dollar damage

Iraq and Kurdistan Region service – Following a drone attack early this morning, Wednesday, April 01, the warehouse and facilities of the Castrol oil production company in Erbil were targeted and caught fire. The company issued a statement emphasizing that it has no role in the ongoing conflicts.

According to Kurdpress, the British oil production company Castrol issued a statement on Wednesday announcing that its facility in Erbil had been targeted by a drone attack.

 According to the statement, the first attack by drone was carried out at 7:20 AM, and while forces were controlling the fire, two more attacks targeted the same location a short distance away.

Emphasizing the non-military nature of its activities, the company announced that it is a civilian company and has an official license to operate, and that it is in no way part of the conflict.

Local sources have announced that the incident did not result in any casualties, but caused heavy financial damage, estimated to be worth several million dollars.
