Turkey denies involvement in downing of US fighter jet in Iran

Turkey service - Turkey's Counter- Disinformation Center, rejecting claims made on social media, emphasized that the country had no role in the downing of a US fighter jet in Iran by sending advanced weapons to Tehran, and considered these claims to be part of a psychological warfare operation against Ankara.

               

According to Kurdpress, the official Counter- Disinformation Center of the Turkish presidency has announced that the country had no role in the downing of a US F-15 fighter jet over Iran, a matter that has come up as an online camping to drag Ankara into regional conflicts has intensified.

The Counter- Disinformation Center affiliated with the communications Directorate of the Turkish presidency categorically denied reports that the country's defense systems targeted an American fighter jet or that Turkey sent advanced anti-aircraft missiles and drones to Iran.

The center announced in a statement that the claims made by some social media accounts about Turkey sending advanced weapons to Iran and also about an American fighter jet being targeted by a Turkish-made shoulder-Launched system are completely unfounded.

The organization emphasized that Turkey has always adapted a principled position based on maintaining peace and stability in the region, and that public opinion management operations targeting the country's diplomatic achievements are carried out with the aim of misleading global public opinion. It also asked the audience not to trust unofficial claims and speculation.

As tensions between the US, Israel and Iran continue Turkey has also faced a wave of misinformation.
