German government's plan to repatriate Syrian refugees met with strong reaction

Syria service – The German government's proposal to repatriate a large portion of Syrian refugees over the next three years has been met with strong criticism from representatives of the Syrian community in the country, who have deemed the plan unrealistic and unworkable.

 

According to Kurdpress, the German government's plan to massively repatriate Syrian refugees to their country has sparked a wave of reaction and criticism.

This plan, proposed by Friedrich Mertz, aims to return a large portion of Syrian living in Germany to Syria within the next three years.  

Representatives of the Syrian community living in Germany have described the proposal as "unrealistic and unworkable." According to spokesperson for the community, the current conditions in Syrai are not at all suitable for the Large-scale return of refugees, and there are serious obstacles to this path.

Meanwhile, opposition parties, including Green Party, have also opposed the plan, emphasizing that the security conditions in Syria are not yet suitable for the large-scale return of refugees.

The role of Syrian refugees in the German economy has also been raised.

Overall, this debate has once again highlighted the complex challenges between migration policy, the security conditions in Syria, and Germany's economic needs; challenges that do not seem to have a simple solution in the short term.
