Vladimir Putin's special envoy arrives in Erbil

Mikhail Bogdanov, special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin, arrived at Erbil International Airport, in the capital of the Kurdistan Region.

According to Rudaw, Mikhail Bogdanov arrived at Erbil airport on Wednesday, December 1, and was welcomed by Safin Dizayee, head of the Kurdistan Regional Government's foreign relations department, and a number of other officials.

The Russian president's special envoy for the Middle East and North Africa met with senior Iraqi officials and political party leaders in Baghdad before traveling to Erbil.

In Erbil, Bogdanov is scheduled to meet with Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, the region's President Nechirvan Barzani and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader Masoud Barzani.

It is worth noting that the Russian Foreign Minister visited Erbil in 2019.
