During the meeting, the HDP’s Buldan proposed for Kilicdaroglu to bring up the demand for early elections ahead of the scheduled polls in 2023 in a joint proposal to be submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the HDP reported on its website.
The CHP leader called for the prioritization of peace, not conflict, during the meeting, it said.
“We talked about the economy, tradesmen, pensioners and wage earners. Of course, we have different opinions, but every opinion is extremely valuable,’’ Kilicdaroglu said.
“Currently, there are serious problems including poverty, hunger, injustice in the country which prompt us to act jointly to protect the citizens,” Sancar said.
“We have a lot of work to do until the elections, we are faced with the task of working together for election security as of today.’’
CHP leader Kilicdaroglu addressed the families who today commemorated the 34 people who lost their lives as a result of the bombings by Turkish fighter jets in the Uludere (Roboski) district of Sirnak province near the Iraq-Turkey border on December 28, 2011.
“It is our duty to defend their rights and laws. I wish all mothers a happy new year. Hopefully I will be able to solve all their problems somehow,” Kilicdaroglu told the families of the victims.
