“I call on our people to go to the polls to elect representatives for four-year parliamentary terms,” Barzani said while attending the inauguration of a new road.
According to Anadolu news agency he added that “with the people’s help, the KRG will strive to bring stability -- and better economic conditions -- to the Kurdish region."
Slated for Sunday, the poll will see more than 700 candidates -- organized into two main coalitions -- vie for 100 out of 111 seats on the region’s legislative assembly.
