Chief Engineer Sergeant Batuhan Simsek died on Thursday, Yeni Safak said.
Simsek was in the Kurdistan Region as part of Operation Claw Lock, a cross-border offensive against the PKK that the Turkish military began in April.
Officials in the Kurdistan Region have not yet issued a statement.
