According to Haber 7 News Agency, Salih and his accompanying delegation arrived in Ankara at 10:30 a.m. and were welcomed by Turkish Energy Minister, Fatih Donmez, Turkish Ambassador to Baghdad Fatih Yildiz and General Ali Siuri, the commander of the special guard forces.
Salih met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after the welcoming ceremony.
According to earlier reports the two presidents are to discuss bilateral ties as well as regional developments and war in Syria.
This is Salih’s first visit to Turkey after his election as Iraq’s president.
