Bright horizon in Kurdistan Region-Iran ties: Nechirvan Barzani

<p style="text-align: left;">The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani predicted a bright future for ties between the Kurdish region and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Attending the Kurdistan Region-Iran Commerce Gathering in Erbil along with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Barzani appreciated Tehran never-ending support to the Kurdish autonomous region in the north of Iraq.

The Kurdish PM added that the visit of an Iranian delegation, led by Zarif, to the region stresses on the importance of ties between the two sides, continuing to say that Iran has always aided the region and he cannot find a word to thanks the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Barzani also stated the region has passed a hard period in the recent years and he would negotiate with the officials of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) over the formation of the new KRG cabinet.

We are attempting to settle differences between Erbil and Baghdad and our planning minister is in Baghdad to hold talks in this regard,&rdquo; Barzani said about ties between the Kurdish region and the central government.

He ultimately appreciated Iran consulates in Erbil and Sulaimani, the second biggest city in the region, and called their role in strengthening ties between Erbil and Tehran as supreme.
