Zarif meets Masoud Barzani, stresses on Kurdistan Region place and stability

<p style="text-align: left;">Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Leader Masoud Barzani in Erbil and stressed on the important place of the Kurdistan Region and its stability.

Zarif also discussed with Barzani the latest developments in the Kurdish autonomous region and Iraq.

According to Kurdistan 24, Zarif further appreciated Barzani’s role in forming the Iraqi government and the political process in the country, stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran plays a significant role of the region and its stability.

Barzani, for his side, stated that a new opportunity and atmosphere has been created in Iraq and that he would do all his best with the Iraq PM to settle differences between the region and Baghdad.

Barzani has further expressed his worry over the future of Kurds in Syria.
