Damascus is not serious for talking with Kurds; Syrian expert

<p style="text-align: left;">A Syrian political affairs expert says Damascus ignores the realities and wants to retake the control of the Kurdish regions as it did in the other parts of the country.

Aras Sheikhmos, a Syrian journalist and political affairs expert told KurdPress about the post-IS Syria that now it is the time of a political coalition for the future of Syria and the Syrian sides should take the responsibility of the move.

Sheikhmos went on to say that Kurdish officials in Syria have welcomed making negotiations with Damascus authorities and the two sides have held meetings in this regard but Damascus is not serious in the talks, reiterating that Iran and Russia, as Syria allies, should make Damascus to take the talks serious.

The Kurds are serious in having talks with Damascus and delivered their road map for the future of Syria to Russia in order for Damascus to study it but the central government has not taken any steps in this regard, the expert further told Kurdpress.

He added that the self-ruling system in northern Syria is not planning to secede from the country and has always asked Damascus to take a better look at the realities on the ground, stressing that the Syrian central government has no other way but to accept the self-ruling system as the Kurds and Arabs are controlling a large swathe of the country.

The expert denied the possibility of any war between the Kurds and the Syrian forces these days as there are US forces in the region and the Syrian army cannot use military choices against the Kurds.
