During the phone call, Abdul-Mahdi congratulated Barzani on his election as the prime minister of Kurdistan Region, and wished him success in leading the new KRG cabinet.
The Iraqi premier hoped that the plans to resolve Erbil-Baghdad disputes would be put into practice soon so the Kurdistan Region and Iraqi government will be able to establish a stronger cooperation to serve the people, BasNews reported.
During the first cabinet meeting on Monday, Barzani told ministers that a high-level delegation from Erbil will visit Baghdad on Tuesday to begin concrete measures with counterparts in Baghdad, and find a solution to the prolonged disputes in accordance with the Constitution.
