In the letter, Johnson congratulated Newruz to Barzani and the people of Kurdistan Region, wishing a prosperous year ahead for Kurds, according to Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) official website.
He also commended the Peshmerga forces for their decisive contribution to the war against terror, as well as Kurdistan’s hospitality in taking in millions of IDPs and refugees during the anti-Islamic State battle.
The British foreign secretary pointed out in his letter that there is a chance of a stable future and democracy for the Kurdistan Region, and London is ready to strengthen its ties with Erbil in hopes of securing that future.
