<p style="text-align: left;">Turkish warplanes bombed the foothills of the Qandil Mountains in Kurdistan Region on Wednesday, April 25.

Head of the Qandil Municipality, Mohammed Hassan, told NRT that Turkish fighter jets attacked Gali Badran village in the foothills of the mountain at 12 p.m. on Wednesday.

The targeted area was only a few kilometers away from a populated area, he added.

Recently, the Turkish army has been shelling the Kurdistan Region&rsquo;s border areas due to the presence of suspected PKK positions.

Besides bombardment, units of the Turkish military have entered 19 kilometers into the Kurdistan Region.

Turkish military has also created three main headquarters and up to 14 small military bases inside the region, according to local authorities.
