Masrour Barzani says anti-IS coalition operation should continue

<p style="text-align: left;">The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)Prime Minister Masrour Barzani reiterated on the necessity of anti-IS coalition to fight against the terrorist group and stressed that the coalition should continue its operation.

In a meeting with visiting Iraqi Caretaker Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi in capital Erbil, Barzani underlined on the necessity of the presence of the coalition in fight against the IS.

Barzani, in the meeting, reiterated that a serious will and decision is needed to settle the differences between the central government in Baghdad and the regional government in Erbil.

Abdul Mahdi told the meeting, attended by KRG PM Qubad Talabani and some other KRG officials, that a proper situation has been made for more cooperation between Erbil and Baghdad and it is a good time for settling disputes between the two governments.

Barzani later tweeted his happiness over meeting with Abdul Mahdi and reiterated that the two sides are committed to fruitful talks and that the two sides have reached agreement over decreasing tensions in Iraq and the region and not to turn into a part of the regional tensions and disputes.

The Iraqi PM also met Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Leader Masoud Barzani and the President of the region Nechirvan Barzani.
