Referring to the anniversary of the Turkish attack on Sari Kani and Gri Spi Fuad Alikou, a member of the political office of the PYKS, told KurdPress in an interview that “the liberation of Sari Kani, Gri Spi and Afrin needs a political solution in Syria as the US and Russia have not reached an agreement in Geneva yet, and the two sides are moving away from each other instead of reaching a solution.”
He continued: "Currently, Kobani and other regions are being threatened and this is due to the presence of the PKK."
"We ask the PKK to give up Syrian Kurdistan and not give an excuse to Turkey," Alikou addressed the PKK leaders.
"What is seen in practice is not good. The programs and festivals held by the PYD in Kobani and Cizre are accompanied by pictures of Abdullah Ocalan (the PKK jailed leader) and this policy conveys to Turkey the concept that we (PKK) are here.”
The party official reminded: Turkey has the second strongest ground force in NATO and there is no possibility for military resistance against this fully equipped army and there is the danger that Turkey will occupy other cities like Afrin, Sari Kani and Kobani after receiving a green light from Russia and the US.”
"I think it is necessary for the Kurdish people to return to their homes and villages. Although it is very difficult, we should not allow a demographic change in (Turkey) occupied regions" he concluded.
