At the same time, an important meeting between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is scheduled to be held today, Wednesday, February 11, with the aim of finalizing the case of the presidential candidate.

According to "Al-Sabah" newspaper, the purpose of today's meeting of these two parties is to reach an agreement candidate or to move towards the option of "national consensus" as an alternative solution for appointing the president so that this case is not delayed any longer.

This newspaper has also reported that the parliamentary session to elect the president, which was supposed to be held today, has been postponed to tomorrow, Thursday. According to this source, due to the meeting of the Kurdish factions today, it is not possible to hold the parliamentary session and the presidential vote on the same day.

According to this report, until this moment, the Shia currents have not reached an agreement about the prime ministerial candidate, and this issue is supposed to be determined after the election of the president.

In another part of this report, it is stated that today, Wednesday, a joint meeting between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will be held to finalize the presidential candidate.

In this connection, the Khandan news website wrote in a report that the Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union have reached an initial agreement; According to this agreement, the Kurdistan Democratic Party has agreed to elect Nizar Amidi, the candidate of the Patriotic Union, for the post of the president of Iraq, and it is likely that Dr. Fouad Hosseini, the candidate supported by the Democratic Party, will withdraw from the competition.

According to this report, the condition of the Kurdistan Democratic Party is that the Patriotic Union in the 10th Regional Cabinet does not want government ministries and security positions, including the Ministry of Interior. On the other hand, the Patriotic Union has also agreed with the election of the Parliament's Presidium, the President of the Kurdistan Region, and the preparation for the formation of the 10th Cabinet headed by Masrour Barzani.
