According to him, currently 19 candidates are competing for the post of president, among them, Fouad Hossein and Nizar Amidi are prominent figures.
Fouad Hossein, who is also the candidate of the Kurdistan Democratic Party for the presidency, in an interview with the media affiliated to his party, said about the meeting between Barzani and Talabani on the 11th of this month: "There was no discussion about the post of president and we have not reached an agreement on a joint candidate until this moment."
He added: "It is better that the meetings continue; If we come to an agreement, it will be much better. If we do not reach an agreement, it means that we will enter the parliament in a competitive manner in Baghdad, and this is not in the interest of the Kurdish issue. "The more united we are, the greater our power will be in Baghdad."
Currently, 19 candidates are competing for the presidency, the most famous of which are Fouad Hossein from the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Nizar Amidi from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
