The Patriotic Union denied the rumor of an agreement with the Democratic Party

According to Kurdpress, after an unofficial source announced that in the Pirmam meeting on Wednesday, the Patriotic Union and the Democratic Party of Kurdistan had reached an agreement on several issues, the spokesperson of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan denied this news by issuing a statement.

Karvan Ghaznai, the spokesman of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, announced in a statement: On 2/11/2026, a positive meeting between Masoud Barzani and Bafel Talabani was held in a calm atmosphere, and in this meeting, the current issues of the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the developments in the region were discussed.

He added: "Despite the positive atmosphere of the meeting, some media and social networks have published news about the agreement on posts, which we officially and decisively reject these rumors. Any agreement reached between the two parties will be officially and publicly announced to the public."

Meanwhile, an unofficial source had reported that Masoud Barzani and Bafel Talabani have agreed in their meeting today that the posts of the Iraqi President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be handed over to the Patriotic Union, and in return, the post of the Ministry of Interior of the Kurdistan Region will remain in the hands of the Democratic Party. But the spokesman of the Patriotic Union has denied this information.
