The legal crises of the movement are over

Service of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region - A member of the Patriotic Assembly of the Change Movement announced that after the end of the Kirkuk conference, the legal crises of this movement have ended and now a new leadership has been formed for it.

According to Kurdpress, after the Movement for Change concluded its second patriotic conference in Kirkuk on Monday, Delir Abdul Khaliq, a member of the Movement's Patriotic Assembly, announced in a conversation with Rawdaw media network that this conference was held under the direct supervision of a judge from the Council of Commissioners and the Department of Political Parties and Organizations of the Supreme Election Commission of Iraq.

This member of the Patriotic Assembly said: "Since yesterday and after the conference successfully ended its work, legally there is only one movement of change for which a new leadership has been chosen and is the basis of interaction; Dana Ahmad Majid has been appointed as the general secretary.

In response to a question about the main headquarters of the movement and the possibility of returning to Zargətə in Sulaymaniyah, Delir Abdul Khaliq explained that due to internal disputes, they have established another headquarters in Sulaymaniyah for about one and a half years and added: "In the ninth month of 2024, with a wrong decision, the door of Zargətə was closed to the old fighters and friends close to Kak Noshirvan, and for this reason we had to leave that place."

Regarding the possibility of returning to that headquarters, he said: "In the new constitution that was approved yesterday, the change movement has the right to set its headquarters in any city of Kurdistan. I consider the return of the change movement to Gardi zergətə as a very remote possibility.

Admitting that the change movement has gone through a difficult period, Delir Abdul Khaliq stated: "For a long time, the change movement has been facing weakness in terms of politics, media and even discourse."

Regarding the next step, he said that they are developing a "road map" in consultation with academics and researchers to achieve "reconciliation with the street and return to the people."

Regarding the parliamentary seat of the Movement for Change and the issue of government formation, Delir Abdul Khaliq announced that no official initiative has been presented to them so far and added: "Any initiative that is proposed, the Patriotic Assembly will hold a meeting and make a decision based on the highest interests of the Kurdistan Region."
