According to Kurdpress, following the increase of consultations about the political future of Syria and Syrian Kurdistan, the European Parliament will host a special meeting with the presence of Elham Ahmed and Rohlat Afrin; The meeting will be held in Brussels by the official invitation of Evin Engir, a member of the European Parliament, and will be dedicated to reviewing the process of negotiations between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian interim government.
According to Havar news agency, at the invitation of Evin Enger, a member of the Socialists and Democrats (S&D) faction in the European Parliament, a meeting focusing on the developments of Syrian Kurdistan and Syria will be held in Brussels.
In this meeting, "Elham Ahmed", the co-head of the foreign relations department of the autonomous administration and the chief negotiator of the talks with the Syrian interim government, will be present, along with "Rohlat Afrin", the commander-in-chief of the Women's Defense Units (YPJ).
This meeting will be held in the "Spinelli 3H1" hall of the European Parliament between 16:00 and 17:00.
According to the organizers, in this meeting, the process of negotiations between the SDF and the Syrian interim government will be evaluated. Also, the January 29 agreement between the parties and its political and security aspects will be reviewed.
In another part of this meeting, recent diplomatic efforts to maintain international support for North and East Syria are also discussed; Among the consultations that took place during the Munich Security Conference with the aim of strengthening global support for the political process in the region.
This meeting will be held in the European Parliament while the field and political developments in Syria have entered a critical stage and the ongoing talks between the parties involved can affect the future of the governance structure in the north and east of this country.
