During her daily press briefing, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow has a historic and friendly relation with the Kurdistan Region, and that they are in constant contact with Kurdistan’s leadership, BasNews reported.
She added the older political parties, as were expected, have won the largest numbers of seats at the new parliament, and they are now required to initiate the formation of a new government.
“We hope that all the Kurdish political parties engage in the efforts to establish an active and trusted government which will be able to resolve the disputes between Erbil and Baghdad,” Zakharova said.
