Iranian parliament speaker, Syrian FM call for expansion of ties

<p style="text-align:left">Iran Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Muallem met on Tuesday in Tehran where they called for expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Syria.

Fortunately, relations between the two countries are deeply rooted and the two sides intend to further bolster and expand such relations, Larijani said at the meeting.
Iran is very pleased with regards to political developments in Syria and also fight against terrorism in the country, he said.
According to IRNA he went on to say that today all witness that resistance of Syrian nation in dealing with enemies' adventurism has borne fruits.
There is no doubt that economic cooperation between the two countries should be increased this year mainly in small-scale businesses, Larijani added.
Muallem, for his part, said the economic sanctions imposed by the US on Iran indicates to what extent the US president is ignorant of the capacity and firm determination of Iranian nation.
He also congratulated the 40th victory anniversary of the Islamic revolution and highlighted the positive impact of the Islamic revolution on regional developments.
Referring to close cooperation between Iran, Resistance movement and Russia in fight against terrorism, he said these victories angered the Zionists and Americans and they seek to continue aggression on Syria to attain their sinister goals.
US conspiracies against the Islamic Republic of Iran are doomed to failure like the ones against Syrian nation, he said, adding that the US economic sanctions against Iran indicates Trump's ignorance in dealing with firm determination of the Iranian nation.
The US has not reduced the number of its troops in Syria but has increased it instead, he said.
