Military operation not to lead to any result, SDF says

<p style="text-align: left;">A spokesman for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said on Thursday, May 31, that a military operation &amp;ldquo;is not a solution that can lead to any result."

The spokesman made the remark in response to earlier comments by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad who warned to retake control of northern Syria from the SDF, NRT reported.

&ldquo;Any military solution, as far as the SDF is concerned, will lead to more losses and destruction and difficulties for the Syrian people,&rdquo; spokesman Kino Gabriel added in a voice message to Reuters.

Assad said in an interview broadcast on Thursday that the state would recover the swathe of northern and eastern Syria controlled by the SDF, either through negotiations or force.

The Pentagon warned Assad on the day not to carry out an offensive against Kurdish-led forces backed by the United States that control the country&rsquo;s north-east.

&ldquo;Any interested party in Syria should understand that attacking US Forces or our coalition partners will be a bad policy,&rdquo; Lt. Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, director of the joint staff, said during a press conference, according to AFP.
