The project construction was launched in 2015 to erect an 826-km wall border areas for border security purposes, hoping to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the country, and reduce smuggling as well, Anadolu Agency reported.
The source cited a Turkish official on the condition of anonymity as saying that a state backed housing developer known as TOKI has built 564 km of the wall, 200 km of the wall was built by the governorates of the border provinces.
According to the news agency, physical, electronic and advanced technology layers which includes "modular concrete walls, patrol routes, manned and unmanned towers and passenger tracks", have been used in the wall.
