Syrian Kurdish-Kurdish talks would be resumed: official

A member of the Syrian Kurdish National Council (ENKS) announced the start of a new round of Kurdish-Kurdish talks.

Qadri Jan, a member of the regional delegation of the Syrian Kurdistan Democratic Party and also a member of the delegation of the ENKS in Qamishli, referred to the visit of the US Deputy Representative for Syrian Affairs to Syrian Kurdistan, and stated that: "at the start of the next month the next round of Kurdish-Kurdish talks would be resumed between the ENKS and the Kurdish Patriotic Union parties.

Referring to the recent visit of Michael Robinson, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Syrian Kurdistan, Mr. Jan said: "The US delegation met with the two sides during its visit to Syrian Kurdistan. There is a diplomatic will in the region that seeks to resolve the Syrian issue."

"Today, a French delegation and then an American delegation are scheduled to hold a meeting with the ENKS on the developments in Syria and the situation of the Kurds," he stated two days ago.

The Kurdish official further added: "We hope that the other side will be serious about achieving unity among the Kurdish currents."
