The US intelligence community has examined the situation of the Kurds in Syria in a new report on the US security situation in the world.
According to the 27-page report, the Syrian Kurds are facing increasing pressure. According to the US intelligence community, the Syrian Kurds are being pressured by Russia, Turkey and the central government in Damascus which is trying to retake the remaining areas under the control of the opposition.
The report has also mentioned the threat against the US forces in Syrian Kurdish-controlled areas.
According to the US intelligence community, the threat and pressure on the Syrian Kurds will increase if US forces withdraw from Kurdish-controlled areas and the economic and humanitarian situation of the Kurds would worsen.
According to NPR, Washington currently has 900 troops in Syria, most of them stationed in Kurdish-controlled areas near oil fields.
