“I condemn the attacks on the oppressed Palestinian people,” Demirtas’ official Twitter account said, adding that he conveyed his “feelings of solidarity to all Middle Eastern peoples who resist persecution and to the Palestinian people in particular.”
At least 174 people have been killed in Gaza and 10 in Israel since Monday, according to AFP.
The former leader of the pro-Kurdish party has been imprisoned in Turkey since 2016.
