According to Kordpress, Lahore Talabani published a message on his official page on Facebook and announced that after eight months of his arrest, he is still in prison without going through the legal process and that is why he has started a hunger strike.

In this message, he emphasized that his arrest was "far from any institutional and legal custom" and despite waiting for the judicial process, his case has not yet been referred to the Court of Arbitration.

Lahor Talabani said that the pressure exerted by Bafel Talabani, the head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and Qabad Talabani, the deputy prime minister of the Kurdistan Region, on the court and institutions have prevented his case from proceeding.

He added that in protest of this situation, together with his brother "Pulad", he started a hunger strike from today and will continue this action until the realization of the "rule of law" in his case.

He also announced that he is willing to risk his life to prove his innocence and "expose fake scenarios" and claimed that there is no role left for the court and institutions in Sulaymaniyah.
